These steps help your filler settle smoothly and give you the best result. If anything concerns you, call us. We would always rather hear from you.
After Your Treatment
- No vigorous aerobic activity for 48 hours. Walking is fine.
- Do not ice the area. Ice can harm the filler. You can use a cold compress.
- No vigorous massage, such as a facial brush or a facial, for 48 hours.
- Do not apply makeup to the treated area for 8 hours.
- Routine skin care can be resumed after 8 hours.
- Final results can take up to 14 days to appear.
- Plan to repeat treatment in 6–12 months.
- If you were told to massage the area: massage for 30 seconds, 3 times a day, for the next 3 days.
- If you have numbness or pain more on one side than the other after the first 3 hours, call the office right away: [Phone].
If You Had Lip Filler (or Filler Above the Lip)
- For the first 48 hours, drink from a glass only. No straws or bottles.
- Using two fingers and moderate pressure, massage the area for 30 seconds, 3 times a day, for the next 3 days.
Concealing Bruising
- You may use an ice-water washcloth as needed, but no direct ice.
- To speed healing, apply a thin layer of Arnica gel three times daily, underneath lotions or makeup.
- To conceal bruising: on purple areas, use a yellow-based color corrector; on yellow, green, or blue areas, use a pink-based color corrector.
